Family travel

A family itinerary carries more detail per traveler. The desk raises each item at the request stage, not at the airport.

For bookings made through CCV Enterprises. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.

More travelers means more entries on the record. A lap infant must still be added to the booking. Adjacent seats cost money on some fares. A child crossing a border needs a passport of their own. An older relative may want wheelchair assistance between the curbside and the gate.

These questions are asked when the request is logged, and the matching requests go to the airline with the booking: seats together, a bassinet on a long sector, a meal, assistance at the airport. Carriers accept such requests on their own terms, and several stay requests until the day of departure. The quote states which have been confirmed and which have not.

Short connections and departures before dawn are flagged as well, so a slightly higher fare can be weighed against an easier day with small children.

How it works

  1. List the travelers

Ages of children and infants on the date of travel, and anyone who will need assistance.

  2. Options with family notes

Seating charges, connection length and the allowance for a car seat or stroller are noted against each option.

  3. Approve and book

On your approval the booking is placed and the service requests are sent to the airline.

  4. Confirmations reported

You are told what the airline has accepted and what remains a request until check-in.

Questions about this service

Will the family be seated together?

It is requested on every family record, and adjacent seats are assigned where the fare permits. Some fares charge for seat selection and carriers reassign seats for operational reasons, so it is a firm request rather than a guarantee.

Does a lap infant need a ticket?

On a domestic sector an infant on a lap usually travels without a paid seat but must still appear on the booking. On an international sector carriers generally charge an infant fare plus taxes. The cost for your routing is confirmed in the quote.

Does a child need a passport to leave the United States by air?

Yes. A child needs a passport of their own for international air travel. Entry requirements for the destination should be read on the U.S. Department of State travel pages before a request is approved.

A journey to price?

Send the route, the dates and the number of travelers. An agent opens a record and replies with options and one total. Nothing is reserved until you say so.
