Rishikesh, India
Riverside tented camp
Furnished tents on a river beach upstream of the town, with meals included and rafting from the doorstep.

These are permanent tents on timber platforms with real beds, an attached bathroom and electricity — not a backpacking arrangement. Meals are included because there is nowhere else to eat.
The camps sit on beach bends several kilometres upstream, which is what makes them quiet and also what makes them remote: a trip into town is a drive. The rafting put-in is usually a short walk from the tents.
What stands out
- On the river itself, with the water a few steps from the tent.
- All meals included, which is a practical necessity rather than a perk.
- Rafting starts from the camp rather than from a coach park.

More about Rishikesh
Rishikesh is where the Ganges comes out of the hills, and the town arranges itself along both banks. It is a pilgrimage place first and a yoga and rafting destination second, and the two sit alongside each other more comfortably than you might expect.
The quieter properties are upstream, several kilometres from the footbridges and the evening crowds. The convenient ones are in the middle of it. There is no option that is both, and we will tell you which you have chosen.
