What the selection on this website is

Each stay published here describes a standard of property in an area — a converted courtyard house in the Udaipur old town, a walled garden villa in Seminyak — rather than one named hotel. That is deliberate. It lets this desk quote honestly against your dates from whichever house of that standard actually has space, and it means the website never attaches a price to a business whose availability it has not checked.

The exact property is named in your quotation and again on your confirmation, before you pay anything.

From request to confirmation

Send your dates, the party and anything that would make the stay work. We check with the properties we hold rates with and come back with the house, the room category, the board basis, the total and the cancellation window. If you approve the total, we take payment as the Payment Policy sets out and confirm. A stay is booked only when you hold our written confirmation naming the property and the reference.

What a room category does and does not promise

A room category describes a type of room, not a specific room. A view described as lake-facing may be partially obstructed, and in a converted building no two rooms are identical; we will tell you what the category means at the property quoted. A specific room number, floor or aspect can be requested and never guaranteed.

Bed configuration is a request until the property confirms it. If a twin rather than a double matters, say so in the request and we will only quote properties that can hold it.

Occupancy, children and extra beds

Rates are quoted for a stated occupancy, usually two guests sharing. An additional guest, a child sharing, a cot or an extra bed changes the rate and sometimes the room category. Tell us the ages of any children travelling: child pricing, and whether a child can share at all, is set by each property and varies widely.

Check-in, check-out and identity documents

Standard check-in is from 14:00 and check-out by 11:00 or 12:00 depending on the property; anything earlier or later is a request. Properties in India are required to record the identity details of every adult guest at check-in, and foreign nationals' arrivals are reported to the authorities. Bring the document whose name you gave us. A name that does not match the booking can cost you the room.

Accessibility and particular needs

Tell us before we book, not after. Many of the buildings this desk arranges are converted houses with steep stairs and no lift, and a villa pool is often unfenced. Those facts cannot be fixed on arrival, but they can be filtered for at the quotation stage. See the Accessibility Statement.

What you settle directly with the property

Anything charged to the room during the stay — meals outside the board basis, a minibar, laundry, a spa treatment, a late check-out fee — is settled with the property. A security deposit or a pre-authorisation on a card is common and is taken by the property, not by this desk. Local taxes or levies payable on arrival, such as Indonesia's tourist levy, sit outside anything we quote and we will tell you when one applies.
