City hotel near the MRT

A compact, well-run city hotel a few minutes from an MRT station, with a small pool on the roof.

Singapore hotels are efficient and small. A standard room is often around 22 to 26 square metres, which is comfortable for two and tight for three, and the photographs make every one of them look larger than it is.

What you are buying is position. A hotel three minutes from an MRT station makes the whole city accessible without a taxi, and that is worth more here than an extra few square metres.

What stands out

  • Minutes from an MRT station, which makes the city free to move around.
  • Reliable and well run, with a front desk at all hours.
  • Hawker food within walking distance — the best value eating anywhere we book.

More about Singapore

Singapore rewards a short stay. Three nights covers the city comfortably, four if you are travelling with children and want the attractions on Sentosa as well. It is also the easiest place we book to get around without any help from us.

The one thing to calibrate is room size. Hotel rooms here are small by the standards of most of our other destinations, and a family of four in one room is tighter than the photographs suggest. We will quote two rooms where that is the honest answer.
